DESCRIPTION:  Are you a certified lifeguard, or are training to be one? Come join the Knoebels Crystal Pool team to assist guests in the safety, cleanliness and enjoyment of the pool.



  • Smile and greet guests in a pleasant manner
  • Answer questions or direct guests to someone who can
  • Handle guest complaints or call a supervisor
  • Observe and enforce all rules and regulations
  • Prevent injuries and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations
  • Respond quickly to all emergency situations
  • Administer first aid as needed to guests
  • Communicate with head lifeguard, other lifeguards and management
  • Ask for additional assistance and/or equipment when needed
  • Attend all in service training programs and be aware of all scheduled facility events
  • Attend to first aid room at pool
  • Perform additional duties as assigned including but not limited to teaching swimming lessons, skimming the pool, weeding, scrubbing the ring around the pool, sweeping the pool deck, collecting trash
  • Perform cleaning duties at workstation to maintain a clean safe work area


  • Minimum age 16
  • This is a seasonal fulltime position, with weekend hours required.
  • Must find your own replacement if unable to work your scheduled shifts
  • Requires working in an outdoor environment
  • Requires extended sitting and standing
  • Must attend basic/advanced lifesaving, CPR, and First Aid classes at the pool for certification or already be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard. Certification in WSI: Water Safety Instructor is helpful but not required.
  • Must be an excellent swimmer
  • Must have rescue, resuscitation and first aid skills
  • Must have previous experience in aquatic operations
  • Must have an outgoing personality with a strong commitment to customer service and to the Knoebel company
  • Must be dependable, reliable, prompt, efficient, trustworthy, adaptable, organized and be a team player
  • Must be upbeat, energetic, self-motivated and be able to stay focused
  • Must present a professional image in appearance and conduct
  • Must relate to people in a friendly professional manner
  • Must follow company grooming and hygiene requirements
  • Must follow Knoebels Mission Statement, Core Values and “Standard of Conduct”
  • Must not eat, smoke or use tobacco while at any workstation

This job falls into one or both of two different categories of employment – either “seasonal” or “variable hour”.  Most employment at Knoebels is seasonal employment.  This means the duration of the job will customarily be six months or less.  Some employment at Knoebels may customarily extend beyond six months and this employment is typically classified as variable hour employment.  The employment is considered variable hour employment because average weekly hours cannot reasonably be anticipated at the time of hire due to uncertainty of the work schedule (e.g. weather, fluctuating staffing needs, etc.).
